I've been a Ham since 2002. I got my ticket after my grandfather, the original W8LEV, passed away. I grew up hanging out in his shack, all the while resisting getting my license. He and I traveled to the Dayton Hamvention from the time I was 15 until his death (about 22 years). When he became a SK, I buckled down and got my Tech and subsequently I've upgraded to General and then Extra. I've continued attending Dayton each year and it's almost as fun as it was for all the years he and I went...but not quite. I miss him. Meanwhile, my brother-in-law has been going with me and we have a blast.
I'm a member of the WASH (Wireless Association of the South Hills) club, located in suburban Pittsburgh.
I'm a Software Engineer by profession, working mostly on embedded systems. I work for a Telecommunications-related test and measurement equipment manufacturer, where I manage a group of developers. I've been there for 10+ years.
ARF is one of those products that I built to "scratch an itch" that I've had and that others have expressed similar need for.
ARF will be sold by LTW Enterprises, LLC.
