What's the Word?

I've been dealing with the issue of database licensing.  I want to be sure that ARF has the most accurate and up to date data, so I want to make sure that I have that work buttoned up before I ship.  Work there is proceeding and I'll make an announcement when it completes.

In the mean time, I've been using the time to do some additional firmware work.  Perhaps most notably, I'm adding in support for Yaesu FT857, FT897 and FT00 rigs.  This should be the last of the rigs that I'll add before we begin to ship kits.

I've also been "cleaning up" some other aspects of the firmware.  For example, I've added a backlight timer.  You can set a backlight timeout period, so that after some time (from 1 minute to 1 hour) of inactivity, ARF turns off the backlight.  This saves some power, as well as the life of the backlight.  When you press a button or turn the encoder, the light comes back on.  As long as there's activity, the light will stay on.  But, when you get idle, the light will turn off.  Other areas of cleanup include making sure the display is consistent and unambiguous.
